Where I've been, who I am, and how a woman over 50 became a digital marketing geek
In my 50's I had to admit to the reality of "the age thing" in corporate America. I finally admitted that it was only going to get harder from here to be hired, even with all that I could offer!
Marketing, Sales, Design, Emotional Linguistics, Copywriting, the list kept growing. The idea of becoming an entrepreneur had already grabbed me by my creative throat and asked me to sit down and pay attention - which I had in fact been doing! And 30 years of working in corporate environments in Administrative and Coordinator capacities had given me a lot of creative, organizational, and strategic skills - not to mention the fact that I had become a computer geek from the moment I put my hands on the keyboard of the world's first version of the Macintosh. I was going to have to decide what to focus on, and that is when my partner of 12 years passed away and left me at the bottom of my financial and emotional wells. |
I made a stop at Sales, and learned a lot about turning selling into sharing, and finally I did some relative "math":
Administrative Assistance + Computers + Strategy + Design + Copywriting? Well, Sherlock, it had to be marketing!
So, for eight years I was a Marketing Virtual Assistant, helping out individuals from the U.S. to Germany! The idea of starting a Digital Marketing Agency did not even occur to me until Covid sat me down for months and made me look at various factors - not the least of which was "who do I want to be now that I am grown up!"
Along came a man named Lucas Lee-Tyson and his Digital Marketing team in Boston. I decided to build on my Marketing "chops" and team up with Lucas. Womanpreneur Branded Digital Agency was born to help women in business rise in the world. And that is exactly what we are doing.
